• I went to Beijing and saw tons of the cool sites, climbed the Great Wall, walked around the Forbidden City, etc. It was awesome. There’s tons to see in Beijing, and the Silk Market is really crazy.
• I went shopping in Shanghai and got some great knock off stuff for pretty cheap
• Went to a Hot Pot Restarurant. I’m not sure exactly how to explain this, but it’s kind of like a Fondue restaurant only different. You sit at this table that has this huge pot of soup on a little cooker thing and then you just order random ingredients and put it in the pot and then everyone just takes what they want using their chopsticks. It’s pretty fun, but Andy (the guy who took us, Andy is his english name I don’t know his Chinese name) ordered some interesting stuff…. I’m not really sure what half of it was. Most of it was really good, but at one point he really wanted me to try this one item, and I thought it might be octopus, but he informed me that it was a part of the cow that he couldn’t say in English…. I’d rather not know.
• Went to Haungshan (Yellow Mountain) which was really pretty, and Maddie and I found out that we were slightly under prepared for it. We were thinking it was just like a hike… but then we got there and everyone had like those huge backpacking backpacks strapped on their backs and like walking sticks and stuff. It turned out to be fun though the part of the mountain we were on wasn’t too hard, and we really liked Huangshan city.
• A few weeks back the Jazz lost to the Rockets. Everyone here loves this fact. They won’t let me forget it. The Jazz better shape up next time we play them.
• Last week we were invited to go to another school and teach a class. I’d forgotten what it was like that first week of school…. but I remember now. Signing english books, photos, video cameras, mobs of children all over again.
• This week is Sports week at our school, and tomorrow Maddie and I have been “invited” to be in one of the races… can’t wait…. we’re going to look totally foolish. Espeically since neither one of us packed gym clothes so we’ll have to run it in our jeans… should be fun.

So I went to the new moon midnight showing last night, which was very entertaning as midnight movie premiers always are. The screaming, the clapping ect, the insane fan girls ect. but look what I found today!!

• If you are going on a hike make sure you check the distance yourself because often times people lie about the distance

• With few exceptions and unless it could result in your death dares ought to be taken

• Drinks that arent smoothies or shakes or that sort should not include bananas they leave a funny after taste
• youtube is endlessly entertaing
• Just becuase someone older then you tells you a plant is wild parsley doesn’t mean you should believe them… It might be poisonous
• Pokemon is the best game to play on the game boy
• The best shooting game is 007. no other video games even come close. don’t let people lie to you and tell you different. halo smalo
• Running into a 6 foot 3 man in an effort to tip him off balance is only going to end with you on your back.
• Boys don’t like to play video games with you if you win

But look guys I got it this fancy sarcophagus. That was nice of me huh? And inside instead of things to take to the underworld I’ll just throw in my dreams of escalades and houseboats and stuff:) but I’ll also throw in all the crap like science classes I hate and long hours talking to people with gross teeth.

And recommendations on how to get myself out of arizona without hurting feelings.

This weekend we went “camping” in a motor home. And although it was perhaps not real camping it was still equal in amounts of fun to real camping. perhaps at first glance you thought my face was really tan. look closely cause it is for sure all dirt. gross I know. but quading is really fun even if you are being driven by some maniac 12 year old. another thing I learned is that dance parties can be fun with pretty much anybody who is willing to dance. I taught 15 adults the hoedown throw down. I don’t really know whether to be proud or embarrassed

Today when I was driving home from school on Mckellips I hit NO RED LIGHTS. not one. this i some sort of amazing.

My cousins husband has a harley. He wants a new harley and she doesn’t want him to get one. She found his cash stash (they each have their own cash stash that they hide from each other and activly earch for one anothers) She says if he buys a new harley she is going to go straight to the car dealership and drive home in an Audi TT that she plans to buy with his cash stash. I cannot wait for this to happen. Also he has no idea she has this planned or that she knows the location of his cash stash.

I taught the 2 year old to say “why you so obbsessed with me?” on command

So I am currently sitting in my apartment in China. I really love it here. The city I live in is AMAZING. And all the kids are so fun I love teaching. Easily the coolest thing I’ve ever done.

Things About China

• The city I live in is a small one in a poorer province so most people here have never seen an American. Having blonde hair and blue eyes = instant celebrity status. Seriously, people just snap my photo all the time, students always want me to sign their books (not sure why), and I spend half my day waving at everyone who walks by me.
• Everyone here is REALLY friendly. They always want to impress us too, so they are always giving us things and stuff.
• Personal space? Not such a big thing here.
•  Also advanced notice…. Apparently in China things just aren’t as scheduled as they are in America. For example… even though the “holiday” is in like 2 weeks they have yet to decide when school will let out for it.
•  Another example of this would be the day Maddie and I started teaching. They totally just handed us our schedule and were like k, go for it! Your classes start now. haha
• Or the time they just showed up at our apartment at like 7:00 pm and said the headmaster (whom we call Dumbledore in the privacy of our own apartment) would like to interview us. Maddie and I are thinking he wants to ask us about our classes and stuff. Well…. No actually we are just going to be on the news is all. (I think by time I get back I’ll be so go with the flow it’ll be insane).
• American Chinese food is nothing like actual Chinese food. Well… they still eat rice. They also eat chicken feet….
• The bathrooms…. You don’t even know….
• The apples here taste better. Also I have this new favorite fruit that I don’t even think has an english name. It’s awesome though whatever it is.
• Their technology talks a lot more than ours does.
• Everything is really cheap here. I’ve got to the point that when I see something that cost 28 RMB and I think it’s too expensive. That’s like $4 in the US…
• Suddenly I feel pretty tall
• The illegal movie market is alive and well.
• I’ve started using a lot more body language to explain myself… this might prove embarrassing when I get back to normal life.
• I had to get a hacked ISP to get on this blog.

 Today in the car I was listening to my ipod, cause the radio stations her are terrible and I kept on coming to songs that remind me of people from home, and some times I even have to skip them because the make me to homesick. thats how pathetic I am.

Sadie- every song ever ok no but a ton, so many I cant list. Rockstar, Escape, SOS, and weekend warriors are all REALLY high

Sydnie- Boom Boom Pow, I can just imagin her dancing in my back seet, also Good Girls Go Bad and her little head move.

Tyler- Girlfriend. He’s the only boy I’ve ever met who wanted to listen to Avril lavigne on repeat.

Yes. That is my cousin’s pet pig. Yes he is an indoor outdoor pig, no he doesn’t smell bad, and yes he bit my hand trying to get that carrot

My cousin, Is actually my moms cousin. but to make it less confusing I just refer to her as my cousin. To her I am the teenage daughter he’s always wanted while she waits for her 2 year old to grow up. Every day when I come home from school I have to sit down on the couch and tell her about my day. keep in mind I have one class every morning so there isn’t much to tell. and she doesn’t care about the girls i meet, only the boys. IDK why so I try now to talk to at least one boy every day so I can tell her that “I met and talked to this boy named _____ he seems pretty cool.”  usually I have to end up going into detail about what we talked about which is a shame because usually all I find out is their name, major and maybe where they are from and then maybe a question about class.

Today the boy I talked to was my cashier at walmart named Bryan, we talked about school and printers…. really how it went is he asked me what I was buying printer paper for and I said school.
